Developing the long-term conditions outcomes strategy

The Department of Health is leading on the development of a cross-government long-term conditions outcomes strategy. The strategy will consider how to prevent long-term conditions, where possible, or to delay their onset. It will consider how people with long-term conditions and their local networks, including GPs, the voluntary sector, and local authorities can work together to provide support at the appropriate times and places in people’s lives if a long-term condition develops, so they may enjoy a more positive outcome.

The public is invited to share views, ideas and experiences online to help draft the strategy. The strategy is expected to be published towards the end of 2012.
